Well, it does indeed feel as though this first trimester is dragging by quite slowly. Probably because I've got morning sickness a bit worse than I had for my last pregnancy, the BSL vigilance and accompanying dread of birth defects is difficult, and the not telling people yet is difficult.
I've started having an afternoon hypo phenomenon (multiple hypos) where it's difficult to keep the blood sugar up. And the carbs in pasta seem to be very slowly absorbed which happened last pregnancy too. A one hour square wave bolus is too short! Amazing.
I'm dropping off to sleep by 8pm every night but am usually up quite early in the mornings.
I know this is a bit of a boring post, but really I feel like I'm waiting at the moment. Waiting and hoping to get through this first trimester with everything okay.
My blood sugars are probably fine, but it is hard not to worry, and with the combination of morning sickness, then being ravenous at times, tired, and having a toddler in tow... keeping the bsls in order really does seem challenging.Posted by M.A. at June 25, 2005 06:46 PM
